Las Nubes [Gesha]

Las Nubes ("The Clouds") is the highest plantation of producers Roberto Mata and his son Michael. The farm's 1850m high peak absolutely touches the clouds and gives a view of the Santa Maria and Dota Valley regions, where the Mata family grows several varieties such as Caturra, Catuaí, SL28 and Gesha.

The Gesha variety has become the established institution for high-end specialty coffee over the past decades. As an example, of the 30 coffees won at the Costa Rica Cup of Excellence 2021, 15 are Geshas. This variety is famous for its exceptional profile with intense and floral notes with sugar and tropical fruit notes.
